Alyssa “Dooks” Al-Dookhi (they/them) is a Kuwaiti-American comedian, educator and activist from who has been featured on CNN's United Shades of America and was a contestant on the Netflix karaoke game show Sing On!

Alyssa grew up in Kuwait and attended college in Kalamazoo, Michigan. However, it is in the City of Brotherly Love that Alyssa found comedy, honed their sharp wit and cultivated their theatrical, energetic style.

By day, Dooks teaches stand up comedy and is Head Writer at Abortion Access Front, a non-profit that uses humor to destigmatize abortion and fight for reproductive justice.

Alyssa was a finalist in Helium Comedy Club’s Philly’s Phunniest contest and a featured performer at the Women in Comedy Festival presented by HBO. They have performed with SNL’s Punkie Johnson, Emma Willmann, Jimmy O. Yang, Josh Gondelman, and was a warm-up comic during season 5 of Netflix's 'Queer Eye.’
